In my previous role as a Junior Geriatric Social Worker, I had to advocate for a change in the care provided to older adults. One specific instance was when I noticed that the transportation services available to our clients were not efficient and were causing delays in their medical appointments. I brought this issue up to my supervisor and suggested implementing a more streamlined transportation system. I conducted research, gathered data on the impact of the current system on our clients, and presented a proposal. After evaluating the proposal, my supervisor and I worked together to develop a new transportation plan that improved efficiency and reduced delays. This change resulted in better access to medical care for our clients and improved their overall well-being.
