Describe a time when you had to monitor the progress of students with disabilities and make adjustments to their educational plans.

In my previous role as a special education teacher, I had the responsibility of monitoring the progress of students with disabilities and making adjustments to their educational plans. One specific example that comes to mind is when I had a student with autism who was struggling with reading comprehension. I regularly assessed his progress by using reading assessments and observed that he was having difficulty understanding the main ideas and making inferences. I immediately met with the student's parents and other professionals involved to discuss the situation and develop a plan. Together, we decided to modify his reading materials and incorporate visual aids to enhance his comprehension. I also collaborated with his speech therapist to develop strategies for improving his language skills. As a result of these adjustments, the student's reading comprehension significantly improved, and he started to actively participate in class discussions and complete reading assignments with greater ease.
