Sustainability in design refers to the practice of creating designs that minimize negative impacts on the environment and promote long-term ecological balance. It involves considering the lifecycle of a product or project, from its raw material extraction to its disposal. Sustainable design aims to reduce resource consumption, minimize waste, and incorporate renewable energy sources. It is essential in design because it helps address environmental issues such as climate change, resource depletion, and pollution. Sustainable design also considers social and economic factors, ensuring that projects are socially responsible and economically feasible.

Sustainability in design involves creating environmentally friendly and socially responsible solutions that address ecological concerns. It means considering the entire lifecycle of a project and incorporating strategies like resource efficiency, waste reduction, and renewable energy. Sustainability is crucial in design because it helps mitigate climate change, conserve resources, and foster a healthier and more equitable society. For example, I implemented sustainable design principles in a recent project by using eco-friendly materials, optimizing energy efficiency, and integrating green spaces to enhance biodiversity.
