In a previous role as an Animal Welfare Specialist, I encountered a situation where a dog in our care suddenly started choking on a toy. I immediately sprang into action and performed the Heimlich maneuver, dislodging the toy and allowing the dog to breathe again. While waiting for the veterinarian to arrive, I stabilized the dog's condition by assessing vital signs and providing comfort and reassurance. I documented the incident and ensured that preventive measures were put in place to prevent similar situations in the future. This experience highlighted the importance of staying calm under pressure and being prepared for emergency situations.

I immediately activated our emergency response protocol, ensuring the safety of the horse and those around it.
