Tell us about a time when you faced a conflict or disagreement within an interdisciplinary team and how you resolved it.

I once had a conflict within an interdisciplinary team when we were conducting a research project on reptile populations in a remote rainforest. One member of our team, who had expertise in statistical analysis, suggested using a different sampling methodology that could potentially yield more accurate results. However, another team member, who had experience in fieldwork, disagreed and preferred to stick with the original methodology. To resolve the conflict, we decided to do a pilot study using both methodologies side by side. After analyzing the data, we found that the suggested methodology did indeed provide more accurate results. We then had a team discussion and agreed to switch to the new methodology for the remainder of the project. This experience taught us the importance of considering different perspectives and being open to change, ultimately leading to a more successful research project.
