My main approach is to educate myself about the different cultures of the patients I handle and to be respectful, which is a primary rule no matter where you're practicing. It's also useful to learn a few phrases in the patient's language, especially greetings. I also consider cultural dietary restrictions when offering advice to patients. Lastly, making no assumptions, empathizing, and showing respect are key.
