Tell us about a time when you had to adjust strategies for lean initiatives. How did you approach it?

In my previous role as a Lean Manufacturing Engineer, I had to adjust strategies for lean initiatives when we encountered unexpected challenges during the implementation phase. One example was when we were trying to implement a new value stream mapping process to identify waste in our production line. Initially, we planned to conduct the mapping process manually, but we realized that it was time-consuming and not yielding accurate results. To address this, I approached the situation by researching and implementing a process simulation software that could automate the mapping process. This not only saved time but also provided more accurate data for us to analyze and make informed decisions. By adjusting our strategy and leveraging technology, we were able to successfully improve our production line and reduce waste.
