How have you contributed to the preservation of library materials in the past?

In my previous role as a library assistant, I contributed to the preservation of library materials by implementing proper handling and storage techniques. I ensured that books and other materials were not exposed to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, which can cause damage. Additionally, I regularly inspected items for signs of wear and tear and repaired or replaced damaged materials as necessary. I also implemented a system for tracking the circulation of materials to prevent loss and theft. By taking these measures, I played a role in preserving the library's collection and ensuring its longevity.

In my previous role as a Junior Librarian at XYZ Library, I made significant contributions to the preservation of library materials. I utilized my knowledge of cataloguing systems and methods to ensure accurate and efficient organization of the library's collection. This involved following standardized cataloguing protocols, assigning appropriate call numbers, and updating records in the library database to reflect the location and availability of materials. Additionally, I implemented a comprehensive preservation plan that included proper handling and storage techniques.
