There was a time in my role as a Correctional Medicine Physician where I had to creatively solve a problem while working within the constraints of a correctional setting. One day, we were facing a shortage of essential medications for our patients due to supply chain issues. This was a critical situation as we needed those medications to effectively manage the health of the inmates. To address this problem, I reached out to local pharmaceutical companies and explained our situation. Fortunately, one company agreed to donate the medications we needed. I collaborated with the facility's administration to arrange the logistics of receiving and distributing the donated medications. This solution allowed us to continue providing quality care to our patients despite the constraints we faced.
