Seeking an experienced Correctional Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive medical care to inmates within a correctional facility, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and best practices in healthcare. The successful candidate will lead the medical team, assist in policy development, and address the unique challenges of delivering healthcare in a secure environment.

Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

At least 5 years of clinical experience, with a preference for experience in correctional medicine.
Current DEA registration for the prescribing of controlled substances.
Eligibility to be insured for professional liability.
A thorough understanding of health issues specific to incarcerated populations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with a diverse population.
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and obtain security clearance.
Responsibilities
Lead the healthcare team in providing comprehensive medical care to inmates.
Conduct medical examinations and evaluate patient health status.
Develop and implement treatment plans, and follow up on patient progress.
Prescribe medication and monitor responses to treatment.
Operate within the correctional facility's healthcare protocols and procedures.
Respond to medical emergencies within the facility promptly and efficiently.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with legal requirements.
Participate in the development and revision of healthcare policies and procedures.
Provide training and supervision to junior medical staff and healthcare providers.
Work collaboratively with correctional staff to manage the health and safety of the inmate population.
