Summary of the Role
As a Wind Turbine Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines. You will ensure that wind turbines operate efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maintaining the integrity of the equipment.
Required Skills
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with SCADA systems and data analysis.
Ability to interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
Good physical condition to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects and climbing.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when required.
Qualifications
Technical diploma or associate degree in wind turbine maintenance, renewable energy technology, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience working with wind turbines or in a similar technical role.
Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various work locations.
Certified by a recognized safety and technical training program for wind turbine technicians (e.g., GWO).
Capable of climbing wind turbines and working at heights.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance on wind turbines to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions.
Inspect and maintain turbine components such as blades, gearboxes, and generators.
Comply with all safety regulations and procedures while working on-site.
Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to develop maintenance strategies.
Complete detailed service reports and document repairs and maintenance activities.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new wind turbines.
