I had the opportunity to train and mentor junior engineers at my previous job. One specific example that comes to mind is when I was assigned to work with a new hire who had just graduated with a degree in metallurgy. I took the time to explain to him the different laboratory safety protocols and standard testing procedures that were used in our company. I also showed him how to use the various metallurgical laboratory equipment, such as the microscope and spectrometer. Throughout the training process, I made sure to emphasize the importance of attention to detail and organizing and prioritizing tasks. I provided guidance and support whenever he had questions or faced challenges. By the end of the training period, he was able to perform the necessary tests and analyses independently and contribute effectively to our projects.
