Describe a time when you had to adjust your research approach or methods due to unexpected challenges. How did you adapt?

One time, while conducting research on user preferences related to vehicle use, I encountered unexpected challenges. The original plan was to conduct in-person interviews with participants, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to meet them in person. To adapt, I quickly adjusted the research approach to remote interviews using video conferencing tools. I sent out invitations to the participants and conducted the interviews through video calls. Although this posed some challenges in terms of building rapport and observing non-verbal cues, I made sure to create a comfortable and engaging environment. I adapted by being more attentive to verbal cues, asking follow-up questions, and actively listening to their responses. Despite the challenges, we were able to gather valuable insights and make actionable design recommendations.

This experience taught me the value of flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
