Tell us about a time when you had to resolve conflicts or disagreements within a cross-functional team.

In my previous role as a Systems Biologist, I encountered a conflict within a cross-functional team when we were developing a computational model to simulate a biological process. The conflict arose due to a difference in opinions regarding the variables and parameters to be included in the model. To address this conflict, I initiated a team meeting to discuss and clarify everyone's perspectives. We evaluated the scientific literature and gathered additional data to support our arguments. Through active listening and open communication, we were able to find common ground and reach a consensus on the variables and parameters. As a result, we successfully completed the model, which yielded valuable insights into the biological process.
