We had to decide whether to introduce a non-native species in order to control an invasive plant species that was threatening the native plant community. Instead, we implemented a more integrated approach using manual removal, controlled burning, and native plant propagation. Although it was a challenging decision, it turned out to be the right one as we were able to successfully restore the wetland habitat and preserve the native plant community.
