Summary of the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Addiction Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated healthcare team, providing care for patients struggling with addiction. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient care, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medication, all within the scope of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) credentials. This role requires a deep understanding of addiction and mental health issues, and a commitment to patient recovery and wellness.

Qualifications
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with a specialization in addiction.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in addiction medicine or a related field.
Active DEA registration and authority to prescribe buprenorphine (X-waiver).
Evidence of continued education or certification in addiction-related treatment modalities.
Strong clinical skills, including the ability to manage complex medical situations.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
Prescribe medications for addiction treatment, such as Methadone, Buprenorphine, or Naltrexone, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address behavioral aspects of addiction.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other specialized staff.
Monitor patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
Educate patients and their families about addiction and recovery strategies.
Stay current with the latest best practices in addiction treatment and integrate new findings into patient care.
Adhere to ethical and legal standards in nursing practice, including patient confidentiality and rights.
