Summary of the Role
As a Chief Marketing Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of an organization's marketing and advertising initiatives. Your primary concern is to generate revenue by increasing sales through successful marketing for the entire organization, using market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising, and public relations.

Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
Develop and manage marketing budgets, and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets.
Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of marketing and sales staff and oversee their daily activities.
Negotiate with media agencies and secure agreements on the production of promotional materials.
Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy based on knowledge of company objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgeting, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.
Formulate, direct, or coordinate marketing activities or policies to promote products or services, working with advertising or promotion managers.
Develop and manage sales/marketing operating budgets.
Plan and oversee the organization's advertising and promotion activities including print, electronic, and direct mail outlets.
Collect and analyze market research data to define market segment, forecast market trends, and assess the success of marketing strategies.
