Summary of the Role
As a Senior Historic Preservationist, you will be responsible for overseeing the preservation, restoration, and protection of historical sites, buildings, and artifacts. Your expertise in historic architecture, conservation techniques, and cultural heritage management will be pivotal in ensuring that significant historical places are preserved for future generations.

Proven track record of successfully managing and completing preservation projects.
In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal preservation laws and guidelines.
Experience applying for and managing grants and other funding sources for preservation projects.
Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Conduct historical research on properties, neighborhoods, and regions to identify significant structures and sites.
Develop and manage preservation plans and conservation projects for historic properties.
Collaborate with architects, planners, and conservation specialists to ensure that restoration projects are in line with preservation standards.
Provide expert consultation and guidance on matters of historical significance and preservation regulations.
Advocate for and secure funding for preservation projects through grants, fundraising, and public outreach.
Monitor the condition of historical sites and take necessary measures to mitigate any threats to their integrity.
Liaise with government agencies, historical societies, and the public on matters related to historic preservation policy.
Lead and mentor junior staff and volunteers in the field of historic preservation.
