Tell us about a time when you had to change or adapt your plans in response to new information or unforeseen circumstances.

There was a time when I was working on a project to develop a new residential community. We had initially planned to include a large park within the community, but during the development process, we received feedback from local residents that they preferred a smaller park and more green spaces dispersed throughout the neighborhood. We also learned that the initial park location would require cutting down several mature trees, which the community strongly opposed. In response to this new information, we decided to adapt our plans and reconfigure the community layout to include smaller parks and preserve the existing trees. This change required additional meetings with stakeholders and adjustments to the design, but it ultimately resulted in a more harmonious and environmentally-friendly development.

I can recall a time when I was leading a project to develop a new transportation system for a city. We had conducted extensive research and planning, and our team had finalized the route and design. However, just before the implementation phase, we received new data indicating a significant increase in population growth in certain areas of the city. This meant that our initial plans would not adequately serve the future needs of the community. By being transparent and collaborative, we were able to gain their support and successfully implement the modified approach. This experience taught me the importance of being flexible and resourceful in the face of unforeseen challenges, as well as the value of inclusivity and partnership with stakeholders.
