Tell us about a project where you had to think creatively to overcome a problem or obstacle.

In my previous role as a Junior Environmental Outreach Coordinator, I was tasked with organizing a community engagement event to promote environmental sustainability. However, we faced a challenge because the event venue did not have enough space to accommodate all the attendees we anticipated. To think creatively and overcome this obstacle, we decided to transform the event into a virtual experience. We created an interactive website where participants could explore different exhibits, watch educational videos, and engage in live chats with experts. This allowed us to reach a larger audience and still provide a meaningful experience despite the space limitations. The event was a huge success, with over 1,000 attendees from various locations participating virtually.

We secured a larger venue for an in-person event and implemented strict COVID-19 safety protocols to ensure the safety of attendees. Simultaneously, we developed a comprehensive virtual experience that mirrored the in-person activities. This included a website with interactive exhibits, live-streamed presentations and workshops, and online discussions facilitated by experts in environmental sustainability. To promote the event, we leveraged social media platforms and partnered with local businesses and organizations to amplify our outreach efforts. The result was an event that surpassed our expectations, with over 2,000 attendees both in-person and virtually, actively participating in discussions and workshops, and leaving with a deeper understanding of environmental sustainability.
