Which research methodologies have you used to study crop development and improvement?

During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to participate in research projects focused on crop development and improvement. One of the methodologies we used was field trials, where we planted different varieties of crops and monitored their growth, yield, and resistance to pests and diseases. We also conducted laboratory experiments to analyze the genetic makeup of the crops and identify genes associated with desirable traits. Additionally, we utilized statistical analysis to evaluate the data collected and determine the effectiveness of different breeding techniques.
