Qualifications
Valid Nurse Practitioner license and board certification in the respective state of practice.
At least 5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on adolescent health.
Completion of a Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field.
Certification in Adolescent Medicine or willingness to obtain.
Current CPR and BLS certification, with ACLS certification preferred.
Eligibility for DEA registration and ability to prescribe medication without restriction.
Responsibilities
Perform routine health assessments and provide care for acute and chronic illnesses.
Administer immunizations and perform physical examinations tailored to adolescent health needs.
Counsel adolescents and their families on issues such as sexual health, substance abuse, and mental health.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement healthcare plans.
Conduct screenings for common adolescent health issues, including eating disorders and depression.
Stay current with developments in adolescent medicine and integrate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Provide education and support to help adolescents manage their own health and make informed healthcare decisions.
Advocate for adolescent health policies and participate in community outreach programs.
