Summary of the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiatrist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will specialize in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) with a focus on restoring optimal function to patients with injuries, disabilities, or chronic conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and be committed to providing patient-centered care.
Required Skills
Expertise in neuromuscular and musculoskeletal medicine.
Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools such as EMG/NCS.
Strong clinical judgement and decision-making capabilities.
Ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans and adapt them to patient's changing needs.
Knowledge of the latest rehabilitation techniques and equipment.
Strong leadership skills to direct a multidisciplinary team effectively.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with medical research in PM&R.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with a valid state medical license.
Board certified or board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in physiatry, post-residency.
Proven track record of working in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological, and other physical disorders.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs, including prescribing therapy, medication, and other interventions.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists to ensure integrated and coordinated care.
Provide medical leadership and guidance in the planning and delivery of rehabilitation services.
Monitor and evaluate patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment modalities, and prevention strategies.
Participate in ongoing research, clinical trials, and educational activities within the field of PM&R.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in physiatry and related disciplines.
