Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
Valid certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Technologist (MT).
Intermediate experience, with 2-5 years in a clinical laboratory setting.
Demonstrated proficiency with laboratory information systems and automated and manual laboratory equipment.
Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.
Responsibilities
Perform routine and specialized tests in one or various sections of the clinical laboratory.
Collect, label, and process patient samples as per laboratory protocols.
Analyze laboratory reports for accuracy, and interface with physicians to discuss results as needed.
Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory equipment, ensuring that all instruments are functioning correctly.
Participate in proficiency testing, review test results, and incorporate new techniques into practice.
Implement and comply with safety and infection control policies to ensure a safe laboratory environment.
