Qualifications
Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in oncology hematology.
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
Board certification as an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) is preferred.
2-5 years of experience working in oncology nursing or a related field.
BLS/ACLS Certification and any other certification required by hospital policy for specialty care providers.
Responsibilities
Assess and diagnose patients with cancer and blood disorders.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with oncologists.
Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as needed.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and management of side effects.
Prescribe medication and manage chemotherapy treatment protocols.
Perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and administer immunotherapy treatments.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
Participate in clinical research and contribute to advancements in oncology hematology nursing practice.
