Summary of the Role
As a Perinatal Nurse Practitioner, you will specialize in the care and support of women before, during, and after childbirth, focusing on maternity and neonatal care. In this critical role, you will work collaboratively with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to mothers and babies. You will be expected to utilize advanced nursing skills, sound clinical judgment, and a compassionate approach to meet the complex needs of patients during the perinatal period.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing or a related field with a focus on perinatal care.
Current and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) in the state of practice.
Mandatory completion of a perinatal or neonatal nurse practitioner program from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in perinatal care, labor & delivery, or a related clinical setting.
Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Proof of completion of continuing education in perinatal nursing care.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care and counseling to expectant mothers during the prenatal period, including risk assessments and education on maternal and fetal health.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to ensure the best outcomes for mother and child.
Manage the care of the newborn, including initial examinations, health assessments, and development of care plans in consultation with pediatricians.
Assist during labor and delivery, providing support, monitoring the condition of the mother and fetus, and administering medications and interventions as necessary.
Follow up with patients postpartum to assess the health of mother and child, provide breastfeeding support, and address any complications that may arise.
Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with state and federal regulations and clinical guidelines.
Maintain comprehensive patient records and document all aspects of patient care.
Participate in professional development activities and stay current with advancements in perinatal care.
