Qualifications
Current licensure as a registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner in the state of practice.

Minimum of 5 years of direct care experience as a registered nurse in nephrology.
Nurse Practitioner certification in Adult-Gerontology or Family Health with a focus on nephrology.
Eligibility or certification for prescriptive authority in the practicing state.
Strong foundation in pathophysiology, pharmacology, and evidence-based clinical practice in nephrology.
Responsibilities
Assess patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Provide acute and chronic care for patients with renal diseases, including those requiring hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplantation.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on evidence-based practice guidelines and patients' health statuses.
Prescribe medications and suggest lifestyle changes to manage kidney diseases and associated health issues.
Monitor and ensure the effectiveness of treatment plans, adjusting as necessary.
Educate patients and their families about kidney diseases, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal health.
Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.
Participate in research studies and incorporate new findings into clinical practice.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior nurses and other healthcare staff.
