Summary of the Role
An Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing and implementing information systems to support the enterprise infrastructure of an organization. They ensure that all systems are working at optimal levels and support the development of new technologies and system requirements. Intermediate-level Infrastructure Architects are expected to have a good understanding of the organization's IT infrastructure, be able to design complex systems, and work collaboratively with the IT team to deliver high-quality solutions.

Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices.
Proficient in network infrastructure design software, such as Visio or AutoCAD.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect or similar role.
Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud infrastructure.
Understanding of network architecture and operations including WAN, LAN, SAN, WLAN.
Familiarity with data center management and data governance.
Knowledge of enterprise hardware such as SAN/NAS and network components.
Professional certification (e.g., CISSP, CCNP, TOGAF) is an advantage.
Responsibilities
Designing and implementing information systems that support enterprise infrastructure.
Ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.
Monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing network hardware, such as routers, switches, and load balancers.
Collaborating with IT department teams to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs and to support the design of infrastructure systems.
Making recommendations for enhancements and modifications to improve system performance, capacity, scalability, and reliability.
Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
Assisting in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions, and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure.
Implementing security tools and best practices to protect network systems and data.
