Summary of the Role
As a Senior Water Resource Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the planning, development, and management of water resources in diverse settings. You will utilize your extensive experience in hydrology, environmental engineering, and water management to provide expert analysis and guidance on water sustainability and policy, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting innovative solutions for water conservation and quality improvement.

Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in water resource management.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or similar certification is highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience in water quality analysis and hydrologic modeling.
Familiarity with regulations, guidelines, and standards in water resource management.
Ability to lead projects, conduct independent research, and manage interdisciplinary teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
Proficient in the use of hydrologic modeling software and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Experience with environmental impact assessments and developing sustainability strategies.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive water resource management plans.
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support water supply and flood control projects.
Coordinate with government agencies, stakeholders, and interdisciplinary teams on water resource projects.
Provide technical leadership in the assessment of water quality and quantity to inform policy and decision-making.
Evaluate the environmental impact of water resource projects and develop mitigation strategies.
Lead research initiatives and conduct field studies to analyze water systems and forecast water demands.
Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal water regulations and standards.
Advise on the integration of water resource management with land-use planning.
Promote sustainability practices in water use and conservation efforts.
Mentor junior staff members and provide technical training when necessary.
