Summary of the Role
As a Horticulturist at our company, you will be responsible for applying your knowledge of plant science to improve plant growth, yields, quality, nutritional value, and resistance to insects, diseases, and environmental stresses. You will work closely with a team of agricultural scientists and workers to manage greenhouse operations, nurseries, and garden centers. This role requires a hands-on approach and a passion for sustainable and innovative gardening practices.

Qualifications

Experience with greenhouse automation systems and horticultural equipment.
Ability to identify plant diseases, pests, and other issues that may affect plant health.
Certification as a Professional Horticulturist (CPH) or similar credentials is preferred.
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel locally to different sites, as required.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain garden layouts and landscaping projects.
Cultivate, propagate, and manage plant collections in gardens, greenhouses, and nurseries.
Conduct research and experiments to develop new plant varieties and improve existing ones.
Diagnose and treat plant diseases, pests, and nutritional deficiencies.
Consult with clients, companies, or organizations on horticultural matters and landscape management.
Prepare soil and growth media for planting, transplanting, potting, and outdoor installations.
Monitor and adjust environmental conditions to optimize plant health and growth.
Manage a team of gardeners and workers, including training and overseeing their work.
