Summary of the Role
A Foot and Ankle Orthopedist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders, injuries, and diseases related to the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles of the foot and ankle. As a Junior Foot and Ankle Orthopedist, you will work under the supervision of senior orthopedists to gain hands-on experience and develop your surgical and clinical skills.
Required Skills
Strong foundational knowledge of musculoskeletal medicine, particularly concerning the foot and ankle.
Excellent clinical and critical thinking skills.
Developing expertise in orthopedic surgical techniques.
Proficient in interpreting diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, MRI, and CT scans.
Compassionate communication and interpersonal skills with patients and staff.
Time management and organizational abilities.
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
Completion of a residency program in orthopedic surgery.
Current board eligibility or board certification in orthopedic surgery.
Valid and active medical license in the state of practice.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Evaluate patients with foot and ankle complaints and determine the appropriate treatments.
Assist in surgical procedures and gain expertise in various surgical techniques.
Participate in patient rounds, clinical discussions, and educational activities to enhance medical knowledge.
Collaborate with a healthcare team to provide comprehensive care for foot and ankle conditions.
Conduct and document patient consultations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and treatment plans.
Stay updated on advancements in foot and ankle orthopedics through continued education and research.
Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures regarding patient care and safety.
