Summary of the Role
A Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients using advanced radiographic technologies. They must follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, patients, and their coworkers from unnecessary exposure.

Qualifications

Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
State licensure to practice as a radiologic technologist, if required.
2-5 years of experience working as a radiologic technologist.
Knowledge of radiologic equipment and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Strong understanding of radiation protection and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
Perform routine diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with established safety protocols.
Prepare patients for imaging exams, explaining the process and positioning patients to capture the correct images.
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, troubleshooting any technical issues and ensuring equipment is in proper working condition.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to determine the appropriate diagnostic tools for each case.
Monitor patients throughout the imaging process, observing for any adverse reactions or issues.
Assist in the development of optimized protocols for imaging procedures.
Maintain proper records of patient procedures and imaging findings.
Manage radiation safety and quality control programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
