Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose the nature of their pain and determine appropriate treatment plans.
Prescribe and manage medications for pain and related conditions, considering possible drug interactions and patient history.
Perform interventional procedures, such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, and radiofrequency ablations as indicated for pain control.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists, psychologists, and surgeons, to coordinate patient care.
Educate patients and their families about pain management and healthy lifestyle choices to improve their quality of life.
Lead and supervise a team of healthcare providers, including junior physicians, nurses, and medical assistants.
Stay current with advancements in pain medicine through continuous education and research, and incorporate new techniques into patient treatment plans as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
