Summary of the Role
The Horticultural Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of nurseries, greenhouses, and plant imports to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations concerning plant health, safety, and quality. This role involves identifying, documenting, and taking corrective measures against plant diseases, pests, and other threats to botanical health and environmental safety.

Responsibilities
Conduct field inspections of plants, seeds, and plant products for pests, diseases, and overall health.
Ensure that agricultural practices follow established protocols and guidelines to maintain plant health and quality.
Collect plant and soil samples for further analysis when necessary.
Educate growers, distributors, and the general public on best horticultural practices and quarantine regulations.
Maintain thorough records of inspections, findings, and actions taken.
Collaborate with other inspectors and agricultural scientists to address horticultural issues.
Assist in the implementation of pest management and plant protection programs.
