Summary of the Role
As a Chemical Trade Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all chemical products and related activities comply with international and national regulations. You will work closely with various departments to monitor and manage compliance with trade laws, export controls, and environmental standards. Your role is crucial in safeguarding the company's operations and reputation by preventing legal issues and potential fines associated with non-compliance in the chemical industry.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with various levels of the organization.
Certification in trade compliance or a related area is a plus.
Responsibilities
Review and assess all company chemical products and activities for compliance with applicable trade laws and regulations.
Stay current with international, federal, and state regulations affecting the chemical industry and communicate updates to relevant departments.
Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure compliance in all stages of product development and distribution.
Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures, and conduct regular compliance audits.
Coordinate with legal department to resolve any compliance issues and assist with governmental reporting and documentation when necessary.
Provide training and guidance to staff on trade compliance matters specific to the chemical sector.
Evaluate and manage risks associated with cross-border chemical transfers, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Liaise with customs and government agencies regarding trade compliance issues and represent the company during any compliance investigations or audits.
