Summary of the Role
The EHR Trainer is responsible for designing, implementing, and conducting training programs for electronic health record systems within healthcare facilities. This role requires an expert understanding of medical software, workflows within clinical settings, and adult learning principles to effectively educate staff on the use of EHR systems. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of developing curriculum, facilitating engaging training sessions, and ensuring staff competency in using these critical healthcare applications.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, Education, or related field preferable.
Certification as a trainer or educator, such as a CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) or equivalent.
At least 5 years of experience in teaching or training, specifically with electronic health records systems.
Experience developing training materials and educational programs for adult learners.
Knowledge of healthcare procedures, terminology, and regulatory environment.
Proficiency in EHR software and a strong understanding of its application within clinical settings.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse group of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
Develop and update comprehensive training materials, including manuals, online learning modules, and hands-on exercises, tailored to the needs of various staff roles within the healthcare facility.
Conduct in-person training sessions and workshops for clinical staff, administrative personnel, and other users of the EHR system.
Collaborate with healthcare IT professionals and department leads to identify training needs and create effective strategies to meet these needs.
Perform regular follow-up assessments to ensure that staff retain and correctly apply the knowledge and skills learned during training.
Offer support and additional training to staff who need further assistance with the EHR system.
Keep abreast of updates and changes in EHR software and healthcare compliance regulations to provide current and relevant training.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of training programs, and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
