Qualifications
Medical degree and completion of a rheumatology fellowship.
Valid medical license and board certification in rheumatology.
2-5 years of experience in a clinical setting with a focus on rheumatology.
Demonstrated experience with rheumatologic procedures such as joint injections and aspirations.
Strong understanding of current rheumatology medication treatment modalities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, osteoarthritis, and gout.
Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies pertinent to rheumatologic conditions.
Prescribe and manage a range of therapies including biologics and DMARDs (Disease-Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs).
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding disease management and prevention.
Conduct and participate in research studies to advance the field of rheumatology.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including primary care physicians, physical therapists, and other specialists.
