Summary of the Role
The Automotive Compliance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and related products meet regulatory standards and requirements. This includes reviewing designs, testing products, and maintaining documentation to comply with safety, environmental, and industry regulations. The candidate will work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to integrate compliance considerations into all phases of the vehicle development cycle.
Required Skills
Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FMVSS, EPA, CARB, and NHTSA.
Knowledge of ISO 26262 and other automotive safety standards.
Proficiency in the use of compliance and risk assessment tools.
Ability to work independently and make well-informed decisions.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in automotive or mechanical engineering.
2-5 years of experience in an automotive engineering or compliance role.
Knowledge of automotive compliance and regulatory requirements.
Experience with vehicle testing procedures and interpreting test results.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and vehicle systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulations.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement compliance plans for new and existing vehicle models.
Monitor and evaluate the compliance of vehicle systems with regulatory requirements.
Work with cross-functional teams to resolve compliance issues during vehicle development.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for compliance concerns.
Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry standards, and communicate these changes to relevant teams.
Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory submissions and audits.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure their components meet all compliance standards.
Participate in internal and external compliance audits.
Provide training and support to engineering and production teams on compliance matters.
