Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of farms, packaging plants, and other agricultural facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collect soil, water, plant, and other samples for analysis to detect harmful pathogens or contaminants.
Investigate complaints and reports of violations relating to agricultural health and safety.
Educate agricultural workers and facility operators on compliance requirements and best practices for maintaining health and safety standards.
Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings and follow up on corrective actions taken by agricultural operators.
Work with local, state, and federal agencies to coordinate efforts and share information regarding agricultural health concerns.
Stay up-to-date with new regulations, guidelines, and industry standards to inform inspections and advisory activities.
