Summary of the Role

Responsibilities
Conduct routine and special inspections of tracks, signals, and rolling stock to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
Investigate rail-related accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure that railroads comply with federal, state, and company regulations.
Collaborate with maintenance crews to coordinate repair work and ensure that safety standards are met.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain records of inspections and repairs.
Provide guidance and training to other inspectors or maintenance personnel.
Monitor changes in regulations and inform relevant parties to ensure ongoing compliance.
Participate in the development of safety programs and initiatives for the rail industry.
