Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent.
Valid veterinary license in the practicing region.
2-5 years of experience in veterinary surgery, with a focus on emergency procedures.
Completion of a surgical residency or internship is preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to respond to emergency cases.
Responsibilities
Provide immediate surgical care for animals in emergency situations.
Work closely with veterinary technicians and assistants to stabilize patients prior to surgery.
Perform a variety of emergency surgical procedures, including but not limited to trauma surgery, foreign body removal, and emergency cesarean sections.
Manage post-operative care and monitor patients' recovery, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Collaborate with other veterinarians to ensure comprehensive care for all patients.
Maintain clear and detailed medical records for each surgical procedure.
Educate animal owners about post-operative care and any necessary follow-up treatments.
Ensure all surgical equipment and facilities are properly sterilized and maintained.
