Summary of the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders. As a senior member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing patient health issues and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. Your deep experience in psychiatric nursing will contribute to developing treatment plans, prescribing medication, and offering psychotherapy.

Qualifications
Valid state license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus in psychiatry.
Board certification in psychiatric-mental health.
A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing.
Advanced knowledge of pharmacology, especially as it relates to mental health medications.
Understanding of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat mental health conditions.
Prescribe medication and monitor its effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary.
Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to patients and their families.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Educate patients and their families about mental health and wellness.
Keep detailed records of patient care and progress.
Stay current with advances in psychiatric nursing practices and participate in ongoing education.
Consult with or provide consultation to other health care providers on mental health issues.
Manage complex medical conditions in collaboration with other health care providers.
Assist in the development of healthcare policies related to mental health.
