Summary of the Role
The Adoption Counselor will be responsible for facilitating the adoption process of animals, providing counseling to prospective adopters, and ensuring the utmost welfare for the animals under our care. This individual will serve as a matchmaker between pets and families, guiding them through the selection, education, and adoption stages.

Qualifications
2-5 years of experience working within animal shelters, rescues, or similar environments.

Ability to handle emotional situations and provide compassionate customer service.
Proficiency in relevant software and databases used for record keeping.
Responsibilities
Interview and counsel prospective adopters to determine suitable matches between families and available pets.
Provide education and resources to adopters regarding pet care, behavior, and health.
Conduct follow-up communications to ensure the well-being of adopted animals.
Maintain and update adoption records and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist in coordinating adoption events and outreach programs.
Collaborate with veterinary staff to obtain medical histories and prepare animals for adoption.
