Summary of the Role
The Pesticide Regulation Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the proper regulation, compliance, and enforcement of pesticide usage within a given jurisdiction. This individual ensures that all pesticide-related activities follow established legal and regulatory frameworks, protects public health and the environment, and collaborates with stakeholders to promote safe practices.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in pesticide regulation, environmental protection, or a similar role.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal pesticide regulations and standards.
Ability to analyze scientific data and make risk assessments.
Experience with stakeholder engagement and public speaking.
Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data management software.
Certification as a Pesticide Applicator or other relevant professional licensure is preferred.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies for efficient pesticide regulation and control.
Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local pesticide laws and regulations.
Collaborate with agricultural, environmental, and public health agencies to coordinate pesticide management.
Review and approve pesticides and pest management methods for use in the jurisdiction.
Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans for pesticide exposure.
Monitor and analyze data on pesticide usage and its impact on the environment and public health.
Lead outreach and education programs to inform the public and stakeholders about pesticide safety and regulations.
Inspect and audit pesticide applicators and retailers to ensure adherence to legal standards.
Handle enforcement actions against non-compliance and participate in the development of regulatory policies and legislation.
Reporting findings and advising governmental bodies on pesticide-related issues.
