Summary of the Role
As an Obstetrics Nurse Practitioner, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, providing advanced nursing care to pregnant women during all stages of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. You will collaborate closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of both mothers and newborns. This entry-level role is designed for individuals who have recently completed advanced nursing degrees with a specialization in obstetrics.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Obstetrics or Women's Health.
Valid registered nursing license and eligibility to be certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Completion of clinical hours as required by state regulations.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine prenatal and postnatal exams and screenings.
Monitor the health of mothers and developing fetuses through assessments and the interpretation of diagnostic tests.
Collaborate with obstetricians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans.
Provide education and counseling to expectant mothers on prenatal nutrition, exercise, and health practices.
Assist in the management of labor and delivery, and provide care to patients during the postpartum period.
Prescribe medications, order laboratory tests, and refer patients to specialists as needed.
Keep thorough and accurate patient records and ensure the confidentiality of each patient's care.
Serve as an advocate for patient care and assist patients in navigating the healthcare system.
