Summary of the Role
A Zoo Educator is responsible for educating the public about animals, conservation efforts, and the role of zoos in research and preservation of wildlife. This role involves delivering educational programs, tours, and presentations to diverse audiences, including school groups, families, and general visitors.

First aid certification is preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Comfortable working outdoors and standing for extended periods.
Responsibilities
Develop and conduct educational programs and presentations about wildlife, conservation, and zoology tailored to various age groups.
Lead guided tours throughout the zoo, providing information and answering questions about the animals and exhibits.
Assist in creating educational materials, such as brochures, information boards, and activity guides for zoo visitors.
Collaborate with the zoo staff to stay updated on animal behavior, zoo events, and exhibit changes to accurately inform and educate the public.
Participate in community outreach programs to promote conservation awareness and the role of the zoo in preserving biodiversity.
Facilitate hands-on learning experiences and workshops for visitors, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of wildlife.
Monitor the safety of the visitors during educational activities and ensure adherence to zoo policies and procedures.
