Summary of the Role
As a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, specializing in the treatment and care of skin conditions. You will be responsible for providing advanced nursing care to patients with a variety of dermatological diseases, collaborating closely with dermatologists to offer treatment plans and patient education. The position requires a blend of medical knowledge, technical skills, and compassion.

Qualifications
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in dermatology
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent advanced degree
Certification in Dermatology Nursing or willingness to obtain within a specified time frame
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Ability to perform basic dermatological procedures
Eligibility to prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with state regulations
Responsibilities
Assess and diagnose a variety of skin conditions and diseases
Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies appropriate for dermatologic care
Perform minor dermatological procedures, such as biopsies or excisions, under the supervision of a dermatologist
Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing dermatologic surgery
Educate patients on skin care, disease prevention, and treatments
Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
Monitor patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary
Stay current with advances in dermatology and related pharmaceuticals
