Summary of the Role
As a Pain Management Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with chronic pain disorders. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient evaluations to determine the cause of pain and the best course of treatment.
Prescribe and manage medications to alleviate pain and monitor patients for side effects.
Perform interventional procedures, such as nerve blocks and spinal injections, as appropriate for the patient's condition.
Collaborate with a team of healthcare providers, including physical therapists, psychiatrists, and nurses to optimize patient care.
Educate patients and their families about pain management strategies and wellness.
Utilize evidence-based medicine to inform treatment plans and stay up to date with advancements in the field.
Maintain meticulous records of patients' treatment plans and progress.
Contribute to the collective knowledge of pain management by engaging in research and presenting findings.
