Summary of the Role
As a junior Geriatrician, the primary role is to provide comprehensive medical care for elderly patients, promoting healthy aging and managing a wide range of health issues that impact older adults. This involves preventive care, diagnosis and management of complex medical conditions, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Current state medical license or eligibility to obtain.
Board Eligible or Certified in Geriatrics, or commitment to achieve certification within a specified timeframe.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments to evaluate patients' physical, mental, and functional abilities.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of elderly patients.
Manage chronic illnesses and polypharmacy by prescribing and monitoring medications.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as nurses, therapists, and social workers to provide holistic care.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
Participate in continuing education to remain current with best practices in geriatric medicine.
