Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of a general surgery residency program.
Board certified or board eligible in Complex General Surgical Oncology.
Valid medical license to practice in the applicable state.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical oncology, with a demonstrated track record of successful complex cancer surgeries.
Eligibility to obtain hospital privileges at our institution.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with complex cancer diagnoses to determine appropriate surgical interventions.
Perform a variety of oncology surgeries with a focus on minimally invasive and organ-preserving techniques.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and nursing staff, to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
Stay current with advancements in surgical oncology and integrate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Engage in clinical research to contribute to the advancement of surgical techniques and cancer treatments.
Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in surgical oncology procedures and patient care.
Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary cancer conferences to review cases and develop treatment strategies.
Provide compassionate care to patients and support to their families throughout the treatment process.
